This standard explains how we keep our assessments fair, and what we expect of learners. It complements the Acceptable Use Policy.
1. How we build assessments
- 1.1All questions are written by us in original wording. We use exam-body papers only to understand format and level (see Copyright).
- 1.2Each question is mapped to a stated learning outcome and a level of difficulty, and shows its outcome on screen.
- 1.3Questions and answers go through a review before release: a content check by a qualified reviewer, a check of the marking key, and testing of the auto-marking.
2. Fixing mistakes
- 2.1If an error is found we correct the question, re-mark affected attempts where we can, and record the change.
3. Appealing a mark
- 3.1If you believe a mark or auto-marked answer is wrong, email coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com with the subject "Mark appeal" within fourteen (14) days of receiving the result. Give the course, assessment, question and your reasons.
- 3.2A reviewer who did not write the question will look at it and reply within ten (10) working days. If the appeal succeeds we correct your result.
4. Learner responsibilities
- 4.1Complete assessments yourself, do not share or sell questions or answers, and do not use unauthorised help where the instructions prohibit it.
5. Consequences of breaches
- 5.1Depending on seriousness we may cancel an attempt, withdraw a certificate, suspend or close the account, and refuse a refund. We will tell you why and let you respond before a final decision except where urgent action is needed to protect the assessment.
