Assessments
Results, Feedback, Retakes and Appeals
When you get your result, what it tells you, how retakes work and how to query or appeal a mark.
1. Your result
- 1.1Automatically marked assessments give your score and pass or fail as soon as you submit, on screen and by email. The pass mark is stated on each assessment's start page (for example 50% for the ACCA BT mock exams).
- 1.2Where an assessment also has questions marked by a person, the final result follows once marking is complete, and we tell you when to expect it.
- 1.3Results are held under review only where a misconduct concern has been raised (see Assessment Misconduct, Investigations and Appeals).
2. Feedback
- 2.1You can review every question after you submit, with the syllabus outcome it tested and an explanation of the answer. Your result email also shows your score for each topic and your weakest areas, so you know what to revise first.
3. Attempts and retakes
- 3.1The number of attempts and whether your highest or last attempt counts are stated on each assessment's start page.
- 3.2Where more than one attempt is allowed, we use different papers and shuffle questions and options so a retake tests your knowledge rather than your memory of the paper.
- 3.3Practice assessments are for learning and may be repeated. A retake of an invigilated assessment follows the rules stated when it is booked.
4. Result privacy
- 4.1Your result is private to you. We do not share it with anyone else unless you ask us to, or your employer or sponsor is paying and you have agreed to progress reporting as part of the enrolment. Summary statistics that do not identify you may be used to improve our assessments.
5. Queries and appeals
- 5.1If you believe a question or its marking is wrong, email coreknowledgedigital@gmail.com with the subject "Mark appeal" within 14 days of the result, giving the assessment, the question and your reasons. A reviewer who did not write the question will look at it and reply within ten working days.
- 5.2If the question or key is found to be wrong, we correct it and re-mark every affected attempt, not only yours. If your own result changes, we tell you and update your record.
- 5.3This follows the Assessment and Academic Integrity Standard. Appeals about misconduct decisions follow their own process.
6. Certificates
- 6.1Certificates and CPD records issued for completed courses are covered in Certificates and CPD Records.
