Assessment, moderation & appeals
How your work is assessed fairly, how moderation works, and how to appeal a decision.
1. How we assess
Knowledge checks are auto-marked (pass mark 60%; retakes allowed). Workplace deliverables are checked against a published rubric. Assessment is valid, reliable, fair and based on your own evidence.
2. Moderation
A sample of assessed work is internally moderated to keep marking consistent between assessors and over time.
3. Feedback
You receive feedback on each deliverable. If a deliverable is not yet at the standard, you may resubmit it after the feedback.
4. Appeals
- Step 1: ask for a review through the Help centre within 10 working days of the decision, saying what you disagree with and why.
- Step 2: a different assessor reviews the work and replies within 5 working days.
- Step 3: if you still disagree, the Training Director makes a final decision within 10 working days.
Appealing never counts against you.
5. Reasonable adjustments
If you need extra time or another adjustment because of a disability or circumstance, tell us; we agree a fair arrangement that keeps the standard the same.
